How to use an official map

  1. Search the exact launch point and inspect the entire planned route.
  2. Open every overlapping polygon and read its height, time and permission conditions.
  3. Check temporary restrictions and the national NOTAM source.
  4. Verify land access, protected-area rules, people and privacy separately.
  5. Save the current source and any written authorisation with your flight documents.

Common questions

Is the map inside my drone app the official map?

Usually not. A manufacturer map may warn or block the aircraft, but the national aviation authority or air navigation provider publishes the legal geographical zones. Use the national source in the table.

Does a clear map mean I am allowed to fly?

No. The map answers the airspace question. You must still satisfy the operating-category rules, ground access, privacy, wildlife and any site-specific restrictions.

Why do some countries link to an AIP rather than a drone map?

Not every authority publishes a dedicated public drone viewer. Where none exists, the aeronautical information publication and current NOTAM source remain the authoritative public sources.
